What is expediting?

Expediting is transporting time-sensitive freight or just-in-time shipments.

Does PTL only do expediting?

Yes, and business is especially good now that the ELD’s have become mandatory.

What types of vehicles can join the PTL fleet?

If you own a tractor, straight truck, cargo van, or sprinter you are welcome to join the PTL team.

Do I have to have my CDL?

You are not required to have a CDL if you plan on driving a cargo van, sprinter, or a non-CDL straight truck.

Do I have to own my own vehicle?

No, although our fleet does consist of Owner-operators, we also help place contractor drivers with our Fleet Owners to run expedite freight their late model equipment. You can speak to a recruiter to find out what opportunities are available.

Where would I be driving?

For solo’s you will run the I-35 corridor and east and our team drivers run the entire 48 states.

Does PTL have forced dispatch?

No way! You have the freedom to accept or decline any load you wish. However, the more loads you accept, the larger your settlements will be.

How much money can I expect to make?

PTL pays above average industry rates, however, that question can be answered best by a recruiter. They can send you actual pay reviews of current PTL drivers, so you can get a realistic number.

What kinds of bonus pay does PTL offer?

We offer bonus pay to team drivers. Also, we offer referral bonuses to drivers if you help bring another owner-operator to our company.

How quickly can I begin driving for PTL?

Once you fill out an application, as long as you are pre-qualified, you can schedule orientation immediately. For your Convenience, a portion of your orientation is done online, shortening your “on-site” orientation to 1 day.

What types of freight will I typically haul?

PTL hauls freight of all kinds. The expedite division of our company transports “time sensitive” freight for many industries including automotive, medical, printing and manufacturing. The truckload division services customers using 53’ dry vans.  On occasion, flat bed trailers are utilized to accommodate the special needs of customers. We also have the capabilities for air and ocean shipments.

Where does PTL’s freight come from?

PTL has a very wide customer base and also has 15,000+ partner carriers that we haul for.

How often will I get paid?

Settlements are directly deposited into your bank account weekly. Loads picked up Monday through Sunday will be paid out on Friday as long as all paperwork has been submitted by Tuesday. For new drivers there is NO holdover period.
